Combining elements of the various genres he has worked in, composer Joseph VanBuren (sometimes known as Dostah Shilailee) specializes in epic, dark, mysterious, atmospheric and/or emotional music with a mix of organic and electronic sounds. Credits include song placement on The Colbert Report and working as composer and sound designer for the upcoming video game Precipice. His recent releases include Where Angels and Eagles Soar (a collection of mellow instrumentals in honor of his late stepfather) and a multimedia experience of horror and local legend called Abandoned.

JVB's biggest project, Dark Domain, is a horror-inspired collection of gothic and industrial instrumentals - the music to a fictional futuristic world of darkness created by the composer himself. Mixing equal parts of Danny Elfman and Nine Inch Nails, JVB composes the soundtrack to a post-apacalyptic world of monsters and madness. The Dark Domain is a work in progress.
